I don’t know where is the best place to begin this story. It all started in a semi-bougie kitchen in Montgomery, Alabama in 1984 with a set of 6 chrome, wood, and cane kitchen dining chairs and 4 counter stools to match. I don’t suggest standing on cane furniture…just speaking from experience as a child.

Wicker and Rattan are vegetable materials that are being reborn, we refer to being reborn because we are returning to the era of craftsmanship. This type of natural material is used to make any kind of objects that serve as decorations or as furniture, wicker and rattan are very similar that even we can get confused. But beauty is beauty. Sometimes the actual name does matter. One of Forrest favorite parts about this interior design trend is that is is being reimagined in different shapes as well as including retro shapes and vintage furniture.

The wicker comes from the willows and this makes the material lighter, more flexible and versatile, this element is used more more often to create bags, baskets, and ornamental accessories. On the other hand, rattan is obtained from climbing palm trees and of course it is considered one of the most resistant and firm materials to create furniture.
Currently this type of materials in these times are a trend in the interior decoration for your home. One of them is the chairs, armchairs, and rocking chairs, these types of chairs give your home an elegant look since you can also combine them with patterned or plain colored cushions
We are also finding hanging chairs, this style of chairs can be used both inside and outside your home, giving a special and original touch to your favorite corners.

When I did a minimal amount of research on trends, these personal cocooning pods showed up in one article as a reaction to COVID. I understand its function in certain spaces but also kind of hate this trend.
